Dry Needling Therapy
Both acupuncture and dry needling therapy use filament needles, but dry needling is used to stimulate specific tissues to relieve pain within a patient’s muscles. Dry needling uses the same needles as acupuncture, however, focuses on particular trigger points or knots’ within the muscles. It is very beneficial for treating tight muscles or can give relief when experiencing high levels of pain. The needles are usually inserted very close to the site of pain.
It is used to treat musculoskeletal conditions. Dry needling involves the insertion of fine needles in and around the myofascial trigger points in muscles to deactivate and release them. In conjunction with other therapies, we use dry needling for a more comprehensive pain-relief program and musculoskeletal problems.
